LDTC Wikipedians organize periodic Wikipedia Edit-a-thons, wherein we get together and edit Wikipedia articles together. Anyone is welcome to join; no Wikipedia experience necessary!
We hope you join us for our next Wikipedia Edit-a-thon!
It all started when…
Wikipedia is the 7th most-visited site on the internet, but a great deal of its information about linguistics and under-documented languages is incomplete, out of date, or untranslated.
In the spring of 2017, concurrent with their first enrollment in a WikiEdu class, Ashleigh Surma and Dannii Yarbrough got together to introduce the LDTC community to Wikipedia editing. Then came another edit-a-thon the following fall, then three more in 2018, and then several in each following year!
